As John drew his gospel account to a close, he noted: “And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name” (Jn. 20:30-31). While it is desired that all might believe in God the Father and Jesus the Son, not all will. For those who lack faith, the consequences are severe.
1) Cannot Please God. “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is...” (Heb. 11:6). Pleasing God should be man’s desire. Without faith it cannot be done. Won’t you believe?
2) Shall Be Damned. “...he that believeth not shall be damned” (Mk. 16:16). To stand condemned in the eyes of men is one thing. But to stand condemned in the eyes of God is much worse. This is exactly where those lacking faith stand. Won’t you believe?
3) Die In Sins. Jesus warned, “...for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins” (Jn. 8:24). Only those who die “in the Lord” are blessed (Rev. 14:13). Those who will not faithfully serve Him die in their sins, destined to hell. Won’t you believe?
