Suggested Resolutions

Every year countless people make “New Year’s Resolutions.”  It is a time when folks evaluate their life and pledge to make changes for the better.  What (if any) resolutions are you making for 2014?  The following is a listing of some suggested resolutions:

1.  This year I will READ THE BIBLE everyday.  There is no greater book than the book of God.  It gives us everything we need to grow spiritually (2 Tim. 3:16-17).  Why not feed upon it regularly!

2.  This year I will ATTEND THE CHURCH SERVICES faithfully.  Some people never plan to faithfully attend the services of the church.  This is too bad.  The services are edifying.  They serve to stir up our love and good works (Heb. 10:24-25).  Where will you be on Sundays and Wednesday nights in the new year?

3.  This year I will PRAY regularly.  In 1 Thes. 5:17, we are told to “pray without ceasing.”  Are you doing that?  Prayer is a wonderful blessing of the child of God that far too many take for granted.  Pray in the morning, at noon, in the evening, etc.  Pray.  Pray.  Pray.

4.  This year I will TEACH SOMEONE THE GOSPEL.  The gospel is God’s power to save (Rom. 1:16).  But it will only save those who hear it.  What can you do to help others hear?  Invite them to the services of the church, arrange a home Bible study, provide them with a correspondence course, send them bulletins, etc.  What ever the manner, do something!  There’s great joy in teaching lost souls.
